Half marathon training goal
From 5 km to race day: the three numbers that tell you, weeks ahead, whether you'll be ready.
The goal
Run a half marathon
Due race day; check in weekly. Numbers are examples - change them to yours.
| Metric | Target | Why this number |
|---|---|---|
Longest run Each check-in is the new reading | 5 km โ 21 km | The number that decides race day. Check in after each long run; the forecast says whether the build-up is on pace. |
Weekly distance Each check-in adds an amount | 25 km a week | Each run adds up toward the week's target, with a streak of weeks hit. |
Runs Each check-in adds an amount | 3 runs a week | Consistency beats big weeks - three runs a week is the habit underneath. |
GoalNexa forecasts each metric from its check-ins and gives the goal a health badge - on track, at risk or off track - long before race day.

In the app
- Create your free account and pick "Website" in the first-run steps (or "New goal" on the dashboard).
- Add the goal "Run a half marathon" with its date, then its 3 metrics - start, target and unit as above. For an amount that adds up, set "Each check-in is" to "An amount to add to the total"; for a target per week or month, set "Target is for".
- Set each metric's check-in schedule to "Weekly" so reminders keep the numbers current.
Tips
- Tell your AI assistant "ran 12 km" after a run - it adds to the week's distance. When you beat your longest run, say so: "longest run 16 km".
- Behind on the longest run with weeks to go? The pace line shows how much each long run needs to grow.
