Same ideas, different words

In TabilityIn GoalNexa
PlanA cycle (or an organization's goals) - closing a cycle scores each goal 0-1
ObjectiveA goal - with sub-goals for the teams or people under it
Outcome / key resultA metric: start → target, in its unit (it may go down, like costs)
Check-in with confidenceA check-in: the new number and a note; health comes from the forecast
Data sourceEach metric's own check-in URL - send numbers from scripts or automation tools
InitiativeNo equivalent - keep tasks in your project tool
ReportThe dashboard, the team board, a public link, and a daily or weekly digest email

A forecast instead of a color

  • One chart per goal: each key result's progress over time and where its pace lands it by the target date.
  • The health badge comes from the numbers, so the first red flag shows up weeks before the last check-in.
  • Reminders when a check-in is due, and a daily or weekly digest email.
Each goal's progress over time, with where it's heading by its date

Start free, then a price that doesn't grow with the team

  • A free plan to try it with real goals - no trial clock.
  • On a paid plan only the organization's owner pays; members join free.

Updates where your team already is

  • Check in on the web or the Android app.
  • Or tell your AI assistant "we're at 420 beta users" - it finds the key result and logs it.
  • Numbers from other systems come in through each metric's own check-in URL.

Yours to keep

  • Download all your data as JSON from your account page, any time.
  • The source is public (GitHub) - run it on your own server with Docker if you'd rather hold it yourself.

When GoalNexa isn't the right pick

  • You want initiatives, standups and goals in one tool - GoalNexa tracks goals and numbers, not tasks.
  • Your key results should read straight from Jira, HubSpot, Salesforce or a SQL query without a script - Tability has those connectors.
  • You present the quarter as a PDF or slide deck built for you - GoalNexa shows a live dashboard instead.
  • Your team needs an iPhone app or Slack check-ins today - GoalNexa's phone app is Android only for now, and it has no Slack app.

Moving from Tability

1

Export from Tability

Tability exports filtered goals as CSV and plans as PDF (its "Reporting" page); a full workspace export is on request.

2

Create your organization

Sign up, name the organization and invite the team by link. Members join free.

3

Recreate your goals

Add goals and metrics in the app, or give the CSV to an AI assistant connected to GoalNexa and ask it to set them up - it shows you a draft first.

4

Bring the history (optional)

Check-ins can be dated in the past, so last quarter's readings draw the same trend they did.

Questions

Is there a one-click import from Tability?
No. Add goals by hand, or connect an AI assistant (Claude, Codex, Cursor and others) to GoalNexa and give it Tability's CSV export - it creates the goals, key results and past check-ins after you confirm a draft.
Can people still say how confident they are?
Not as a separate field yet - a check-in has a note, and the forecast sets the health. A confidence on check-ins is proposed on the public roadmap.
Tability has an MCP server too. What's different?
Both let an AI assistant read and update goals. GoalNexa's is on every plan, including the free one, comes with skills for planning, checking in and weekly reviews, and its replies use the same forecast as the dashboard.
Is GoalNexa priced per user?
No. There is a free plan; paid plans have one flat price for a team, and members join free. See pricing.
Can we keep our data on our own servers?
Yes. The source code is public under the PolyForm Shield license; run it with Docker on your own server, and sign in with your company's OpenID Connect provider.
